Apple Mail Signatures

Apple Mail creates some verbose HTML for signatures that when used with an attached image can confuse some Outlook environments and everything will come through as HTML attachments. Ideally link images to web server ones so there is no attachment. Below are instructions and an example. Create a signature in Apple Mail > Preferences so a webarchive file is created in /Users/[your-name]/Library/Mail/Signatures Create the HTML signature in a text editor and open in Safari File [...]

Mac OS X Server vs Mac OS

Mac OS X No extra Server software purchase Limited to 10 simultaneously connected file sharing users No support for separate user logins - everyone signs in with the same username/password. This means we cannot track/report a user's access to the server and when someone leaves the company we have to change the password for everyone. No support for custom folder permissions. Force SSLv3 on Mac OS X Server for PCI Compliance

They are in the same folder with different extensions. Verify current settings Open Terminal. Enter openssl s_client -connect [...]

Office document locking with Mac OS X share points

In tests run on a production environment we received file locking notifications on both Windows and Macintosh systems. We tested opening a file (a Word document) on a Macintosh first and then opening the same document in Windows while it was still open on the Mac and received a notification that the document was already being used by another user. The notification prompted to open in Read-only mode and then when clicking Save from this [...]
